A. Cervical Vertebrae (C1-C7) - the most superior 7 vertebrae on the skeleton (between the thorax and skull)
B. Thoracic Vertebrae (T1-T12) - the middle 12 vertebrae on the skeleton
C. Lumbar Vertebrae (L1-L5) - the bottom 5 vertebrae inferior to the thoracic vertebrae and superior to the sacrum
D. Sacrum (S1-S5) - these 5 fused vertebrae articulate with the pelvic bones
E. Coccyx - 4 fused vertebrae that form the vestigial tailbone
